Manta rays, Manta rays, Manta rays and more Manta ray,
Not so smiley staff . Rubbish on nearby beaches is disgusting Meals good but far to rushed..
no good value for money compared to other places/islands
Great location; fabulous reef & excellent snorkeling - possibly the best I've seen; friendly and helpful staff; great place to chill out - nice hammocks, etc; efficient and welcoming reception/check-in; farewell speech and song at departure were a nice touch.
Meal-times seemed a little rushed, especially breakfast, and the choice and quality of food at breakfast left a little to be desired, E.G. cold beans on white bread! Building up a small library would be a good idea for rainy days. It's important to preserve the spectacular reef, so the introductory briefing should include instructions not to snorkel at low tide, not to stand on or touch the coral, and not to collect coral or shells. Transfers to and from Manta Ray were handled by an independent company - Awesome Adventures, who seem to have a monopoly in the Yasawas. While the transfers themselves were pleasant and efficient, booking with Awesome was tiresome and unnecessarily complicated!
Very Nice Island - the resort seems to be integrated into the nature. Fiji as seen on postcards! Dorms are ok, food is very good. Tab water is drinkable and for free. Many hammocks :-) Good party on the beach, but not too loud
Be aware: 5% Charge for creditcard, if you don't pay cash. Alcohol is very expensive.
The sea. The coral, one of the best I've seen in my life. The attention of certain people's staff. The food.
The management response to the noises produced by the construction of new units close to our location. I think they should have taken the necessary precautions to reduce the noise and not disturb the guests, which was not done. If you are planning to relax, this is not the right place. Not recommended at all.
The location was great, the snorkeling in front of the resort was beautiful and it's so close to the channel where the manta rays feed and swim. The food was good with good selections and portion sizes.
The dorm room was very basic and cramped, anybody walking on the floor was felt in every bed, toilets and showers are a long way from dorms and there is no hot water at the resort. Individual bures were too close to the bar which left those staying there struggling to sleep at times.
Loved the layout and simple essential design of Mantaray Island Resort
The Mantarays, the best snorkelling I have seen anywhere in the world, the self composting toilets, its own desalination plant, the most eco friendly resort I have come across, excellent food, friendly staff.
Some of the crowd that stayed there (young british backpackers). If you want luxury then don't go here cos no one else wants to hear you complain!
Trip with the manta ray Friendliness of the staff Food
Fantastic snorkelling off the beach right in front of Jungle Bure accommodation is the highlight. Jungle Bure accommodation with own facilities in this warm climate is very adequate.
The stunning ocean and reef. Scuba diving was amazing and snorkelling almost as good. Very relaxing place to be.
Music plays from the bar until quite late at night (1am). The food isn't amazing but no where else to get any.
Closeness of reef; Diving with mantaray Food
No aircon in dorm.
